Eligible items
Items eligible for this benefit show an FSA/HSA tag. Exact item eligibility may vary by plan. Please contact your plan administrator to confirm that the items and fees in your order are eligible under your plan.
Benefit periods
Your FSA/HSA card charges on the delivery date for the cost of eligible items, taxes and fees. Orders placed in advance may fall into a new benefit period.
For example, if you have annual benefits and place an order on December 30 for delivery on January 2, eligible items and fees deduct from your January benefits period.
Additions and substitutions
Items added or substituted after checkout charge to your FSA/HSA card if you authorized sufficient funds, and items qualify as eligible. Ineligible items or fees and additional costs charge to your backup payment methods.
Contact your provider to see the specific items and/or fees covered under your FSA/FSA plan.
FSA/HSA reimbursements
If you don’t use FSA/HSA as a payment at checkout, you may still get reimbursed for eligible items purchased through Instacart.
Look for the badge that says FSA/HSA Eligible when shopping on the Instacart platform to see which items may qualify for FSA or HSA reimbursement. You must submit a receipt of the eligible products you purchase to your benefits provider for reimbursement.
Please note that your Instacart receipt shows the delivery date, not the date you place the order. This may impact your ability to get reimbursement, as you generally forfeit unused FSA funds if not used during the 1-year period. HSA funds typically do not expire. Contact your plan administrator or employer for more information or with item eligibility questions.
You can find a list of healthcare products eligible for FSA and HSA reimbursement at Publication 969 on the IRS website or by contacting your FSA or HSA plan provider. Instacart provides eligibility information for your convenience. Instacart does not guarantee the accuracy of the information. Please note that gift orders, tips, and certain other fees may not qualify for reimbursement.
